Mufasa by Rodney Bursiel is a square-format portrait photograph taken in Africa, presenting a male lion in absolute close-up against a pure black background. The face fills the frame entirely, every detail rendered with breathtaking clarity, the battle-worn texture of the muzzle, the amber burn of the eyes, the rich auburn sweep of the mane fading into darkness at the edges. His gaze is direct, unhurried, and utterly sovereign.
